I haven’t updated since October 2009 here. Way too bad, considering that my attachment to my toys, both present and past, has increased, and my love for them as well. So many memories, so many experiences… my toys continue being precious and everlasting a presence in my life. I will never get tired to look at them, hold them, smile at them, tell them my joys and my tears, and seldom playing with them. Whenever I feel uninspired to produce something creative, THEY remind me that imagination is innate in every human being, and it’s alive at every age, and it’s not rare that a mere 10 minutes spend with the company of my toys makes me come up with cool ideas I would never thought of before.

In the photo here, you can see Hitmonchan and myself back on 2001. I was 16 years old then, and I used to play a lot. My Hitmonchan – one that I sewed myself – was wearing a similar shirt to mine, and it was so fun taking that photo together. I wish to hold my little one again.. Hopefully, one day I’ll get him out of that garage… I miss him deeply.

What holds me back from taking him now? Simple: my phobia for spiderwebs. x_x The garage’s FULL of those, and I cannot find anyone willing to do me the favour so far…

My Hitmonchan (literally!)

You might be wondering why does a Hitmonchan plushie wear a baby suit and sandals (LOL), and why does he look so non-fighter compared to the anime version. Well my darlings, the answer is simple: because I sewed this Hitmonchan doll with my hands. It was a 4-days long labour of love and patience, and of course I designed my Hitmonchan to be the kid I have always seen in him; in fact, Hitmonchan is one of my imaginary children in the Prime Family, and he’s surely one that I love dearly, even though I don’t RPG him that often. Well, I don’t even need to mention that his plushie version is a way to keep him close in real life as well. Pokemon aren’t that hard to sew, they just need a good design to be thought of and put on paper before starting cutting the cloth and getting the markers. Sewing is art. And Hitmonchan is one of my imaginary kids that I can love in real life too. I thank God for giving me the talent to make him so. Really.

Friends or… something more?

I’ve been playing with Woody and Jessie from Toy Story 2 pretty much every time I felt stressed or bored, and what I noticed after a few playing sessions was that, no matter how much I tried to make them friends like in the cartoon, my Woody and Jessie seemed to ‘act’ more like lovers than friends under my hands. XD Not that I wanted to make them so in my game, but – for example – each time I laid Woody and Jessie one close to another, they would touch hands, or Woody would touch something else… :-/ Erm… Or if I put them sitting on my bed, Woody’s head would end up on Jessie’s lap, even though I didn’t mean to. O_O Well, of course… real toys are not alive, but sometimes they seem to be, somehow.. especially when they do things that you didn’t mean them to do, and when that happens so often. In a way, this is funny and cute though. ^^ What do you think?

Memories of a day at the sea (1999)

This photo was taken back on 1999. I had brought some of my toys at the sea and I took photos of them standing in front of the beach on the balcony of our rented house. ^^ These two lovelies are Commander and Saturn, my most loved robot-kids at that time. I don’t have Commander anymore, because he was either lost or stolen years ago while we were re-doing our apartment. I look for him for years, and cried a lot too… but there was nothing to do: he couldn’t be found anymore. I still have Saturn though. ^^ He was my first robot ever: my aunt Rossella bought it for me when I was 5 years old, sick in a hospital bed. Holding that robot for the first time was like heaven to me. So you see… I’ll love my little robot toys forever. They mean just so much to me. And I keep all my memories as precious things in my mind and heart. Even things about Commander, my gone but never forgotten little one.
